The department is responsible for planning, budgeting, managing capital funds, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring the design development and construction of activities related to the objectives of the City’s Parks 5-year Capital Plan, Citywide Parks Master Plan, and other assigned capital projects.

Project Name:                             Park Improvements

Location:                                       South Miami Park – 4300 SW 58^th Avenue

Construction Timeline:              Each project varies and contingent upon City Commission approval.

Proposed park development entails field lights (summer 2024), picnic shelters (fall 2024), turf field (fall 2024), and a combo restroom-concession facility (fall 2025). Seasons listed are estimated completion periods.

Project Name:                             Tennis Clay Court Resurfacing (South Courts #1-3)

Location:                                       Dante Fascell Park – 8600 SW 57^th Avenue

Construction Timeline:              June – August 2024  

South courts will be professionally resurfaced to ensure a safe and desirable playing surface. New line tape, net posts, nets, and windscreens will also be included in this project.
