Maria has worked for the City of South Miami since November of 2000. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Barry University, with a Bachelor of Science in Professional Administration.
Maria is a Certified Municipal Clerk, and Florida Certified Records Manager with accreditation from The John Scott Dailey Florida Institute of Government at the University of Central Florida (UCF) certification program.
Maria has over 16 years of experience in local government. Prior to joining the City of South Miami, she worked as the assistant to the City of Coral Gables City Commission. Her experience extends to the private sector where she worked for over 10 years as general manager for her family corporation, General Communication Services, Inc. She has also been a licensed Real Estate Broker in good standing since 1993.
